Happy friday, friends. There’s a massive black and yellow spider outside of our house that I’ve spent like 18 of the last 24 hours thinking about. Has anyone else noticed that spider webs seem to be way more intense than they used to? Like they seem…thicker? and stickier? Is this climate change? The pandemic? The deep state?
Hmm. Wondering whether the LEAD Diversion workers in the terrific PAD program can start their process at the jails, evaluating those being held for services and support (a kind of alternative parole?) and perhaps begin emptying the crowded jails that way...
Do you have thoughts on which types of crimes would be most appropriate to stop imposing jail time for committing? Do you know if releasing the number of people being held in the Fulton County jail based on committing those types of crimes would address the overcrowding issue?
I loved this piece. Such wonderfully writing. Thank you for this!
“Has anyone else noticed that spider webs seem to be way more intense than they used to?” Girl no!!!
(You’re brilliant and I’m grateful to read your words)
